Obituary

AUBURN___Vilia M. Jakubauskas, 50, of Auburn, passed away unexpectedly on February 2, 2026, after an acute illness. She is survived by her father, Raymond Jakubauskas of Auburn and sister Rima Jakubauskas and her husband Bryn Ballard of Reading, UK; Aunts, Alka Juskowiak and Bernadette Caricchio and her husband Vincent of Bellingham; cousins Vitas and Jeanie Sarkauskas, Aldona Sarkauskas, and friends. She is predeceased by her mother Theresa Jakubauskas.

Born in Worcester, she graduated from Auburn High School. She received a bachelor’s degree from Anna Maria College. She was a Guest Advocate at Target, brightening the day of the guests and her colleagues. A continuous learner and avid reader, Vilia enjoyed British and American history. She had a quick wit, excellent memory, and a good sense of humor. Most of all, she was a kind and generous friend, a loyal daughter who looked after her aging parents, a protective big sister, and she cared deeply for her pets.

A period of visitation will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Dirsa – Morin Memorial Chapel, Marchand Memorial Homes, 298 Grafton Sreet, Worcester. The service will be in the funeral home at 8:00 p.m.
