CLIFFORD, Lawrence X., “Larry” of West Roxbury, 8 February, 2026. Beloved husband of the late Joyce Clifford. Loving brother to Deborah O’Connor, Elizabeth Clifford and the late Mary Hubert, Eleanor and Margaret Clifford. Loving uncle to nieces and nephews. Great friend and Godfather to Lt. Gen. Luke and Kate Ahmann, their children Jack, Wyatt, and Nora; Carolyn and Danny Craddock, their son Lt. Maguire Craddock; and Nora and Butch Walker, their son James. Larry was a proud Veteran of the US Air Force and Vietnam with 78 combat missions and 345 combat hours. He went on to become an academic with multiple PhD’s and advanced degrees, and used that knowledge to teach others throughout his life. Larry, blind for most of his adult life, navigated life with full sight and will be missed dearly by his vast network of friends, assistants, readers, drivers, international relation discussion groupers at La Salle and relatives. Visiting hours at the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St. West Roxbury on Friday, February 13th from 3-6pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday, February 14th in St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church, 28 Commonwealth Ave, Chestnut Hill MA at 11:30am. Relatives and friends invited.
