Ralph J. Bonfilio Sr. of Plymouth, passed away peacefully at age 91 on Friday, February 6, 2026.
Ralph was born in Boston, MA on March 19, 1934 to John Sr. and Muriel Bonfilio . He grew up with his brother John Jr. in Belmont.
Ralph is survived by his children Ralph Bonfilio Jr. of Thailand, Daniel Bonfilio of Brockton, Paul Bonfilio and his wife Maryann of Plymouth. He is the beloved Papa to Paul Jr., Christine and June of Plymouth , as well as Cori-Anne, and great grandchildren Avery, Liam and Hope of Florida.
Ralph was predeceased by his son John, and his grandson John E. Jr, as well as his sibling John D. Bonfilio Jr.
Ralph loved the outdoors and just being outside, especially by the ocean. He enjoyed kayaking the ponds in Plymouth well into his 80’s, as well as riding around Plymouth on his scooter. You would often find Ralph at the Cape Cod canal, reading a book or just enjoying watching the boats go through the canal. If he wasn’t at the canal, you would find Ralph down at Plymouth harbor watching boats launch and having his lunch.
Ralph lived by his own rules. Maintaining his independence was important to him. He lived on his own right up to the end, driving himself wherever he pleased, refusing to give up the habits that brought him joy. He smoked, he drank, and he ate what he wanted, especially sweets and seafood. Even as time caught up with him, he chose freedom over restriction and pleasure over permission, staying true to him self.
