Obituary

Elizabeth A. “Betsy” (Tattan) Kelly, age 76, a resident of Tewksbury for over 45 years, recently of Salem, NH, passed away at the Lahey Hospital & Medical Center on Thursday, February 5, 2026, following a period of declining health.

Born in Cambridge on November 27, 1949, she was the daughter of former Cambridge Fire Department Captain, the late John J. Tattan and the late Helen A. (Murtha) Tattan.

“Betsy” was raised in Cambridge. She attended St. Mary Parochial Grammar and High School graduating with the Class of 1967.

Following high school, she attended Boston State College and later graduated from Northeastern University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree.

Prior to retiring, she worked for over 20 years as an engineering agent for the Verizon Communications Company and previously for the Massachusetts Electric Company.

Betsy enjoyed working on craft projects with her friends the “Carafe Club” from Lancaster Drive in Tewksbury. In addition, she loved music, dancing and was the #1 fan while attending her grandchildren’s activities.

Betsy is survived by two children, Alison M. Bradley and her husband Thomas, of Tewksbury, and Brian T. Kelly and his wife Sharon, of Atkinson, NH: her grandchildren, Rachel Bradley, Ben Kelly, Thomas Bradley, Marykate Brown and her husband Dylan, Timmy Bradley, and Lindsay Picano. She is the sister of the late John M. Tattan and his late wife Margaret and the late Donna M. Haskell and her late husband Kenneth.
Betsy leaves many nieces and nephews including the members of the Tattan family.

Calling hours are Tuesday, February 10, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. Her funeral procession will begin on Wednesday, February 11, at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main Street, Route 38, Tewksbury. Interment at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge will be held at a later date.
