Maxine M. Rocaberte (Frost) of Medford passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at the age of 95 on February 2, 2026. Maxine was the beloved wife of the late Gaudencio “Rocky” Rocaberte. She was the daughter of the late Lewis and Ruth (Sadler) Frost.
Maxine was a strong, independent and generous person who had many hobbies and interests. She traveled extensively through the years in the US and Europe with her husband Rocky and close friends. Although bingo was her first passion, she enjoyed knitting baby blankets and sweaters and always had one or two projects in progress. Mostly she enjoyed spending time and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides her extensive hobbies and interest, Maxine especially enjoyed going to work every day. Even at the age of 95, Maxine was still employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Middlesex Probate Family Court. Over the years she held various positions such as a Supervisor and Deputy Assistant Register. Maxine started in the Middlesex Probate and Family Court in 1947. She left after 10 years to raise her family. Then was rehired in 1969 until her last day, serving the public and the court for 59 years. Maxine was the longest tenured Local 6 employee.
Maxine was the devoted mother of John Rocaberte and his wife Donna of Medford, Linda Moore and her husband John of Methuen and Richard Rocaberte and his husband Paul Norris of Atlanta, GA. She was the adored grandmother of Keri, Jack, Joey, Alex, Bella, Rocky, JJ, Charlie and Harry and the loving great-grandmother of Jay, Roman and Weslie. Maxine was the dear sister of the late Norma Gelles and her late husband Bob.
Visiting hours will be held in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, MA, on Saturday, February 14, from 9AM 12PM, followed by a funeral service in the funeral home beginning at 12PM. Relatives and friends are invited. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory can be made to St Francis House of Boston and St Judes Hospital.
Services will conclude with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
