Ruben Hernandez, devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at the age of 84. Ruben will be remembered as a man who loved his family deeply, worked tirelessly with pride, integrity and determination at everything he did and enjoyed nothing more than bringing a smile to someone else's face. Preceded in death by his beloved parents; Crispulo Hernandez and Ana Luisa Hernandez DeJesus, his brothers Felix Hernandez and Fulgencio Hernandez and his son David Jude Hernandez. Ruben will be missed dearly by his devoted wife, Edith M. Cartagena Hernandez, his daughter Lisa Gaskins and her husband Michael, his step-children Wanda Rosario and Efrain Rosario (deceased), his granddaughter Marissa Ariana Rosario and his brothers and sisters, Diego and Angeles Hernandez, Haydee Hernandez, Esposoria Hernandez, Heriberto and Eyicet Hernandez, Santo and Dolores Hernandez, Maria and Ernesto Padilla, Carmen Hernandez and Fello Calderon, Jose and Migdalia Hernandez, his God-children, many nieces, nephews, extended family and his countless friends. Friends and family are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours and services at the Brady & Fallon Funeral Home 10 Tower St. (Opp. Forest Hills MBTA Station) Jamaica Plain on Friday, February 6th from 10:00am - 12:00pm. Interment to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
