Angelo S. Restivo, a long-time Medford resident, died Friday at the Kindred Hospital, Peabody. He was 91.
Mr. Restivo was born in Sicily, the son of the late Carmelo and the late Carmela (Nigrelli) Restivo. He came with his family to the United States when he was 5 and settled in the North End. Angelo served in the Army during World War II. A Medford resident for more than 50 years, Angelo worked for the Massachusetts Department of Public Works as a photographer. He also served as a photographer for the deparment of Veteran’s affairs and shot weddings for Sharon Studios. Angelo was a member of Medford’s VFW Post 1012.
He was the beloved husband of Margaret Marie (Collins) Restivo. He was a devoted father to James Restivo of Houston, TX, Mary Elizabeth Restivo of Nashua, NH, Thomas F. Restivo and his wife Maggie of Frederick, MD. He was a loving grandfather to Bridget Foner of Nashua, NH and dear uncle to many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was the brother of the late Carmelina La Marca, Mary Gumina, John, Vincent and Josephine Restivo.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Tuesday at 9:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis Of Assisi Church, Fellsway West, Medford, at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting Hours Monday 4 – 8. Services will conclude with burial at Bourne National Cemetery.
