Obituary


James M. Fletcher, age 80, passed away peacefully, Monday, February 2, 2026 at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington. James was the beloved husband for nearly forty years of the late Linda S. (Martyn) Fletcher who passed in February of 2025. Born in Chelsea he was the son of the late Walter E. and Mary (McCool) Fletcher.

Jim spent his left dedicated to public service, first in the Marine Corps, then as a 38 year veteran of the Revere Police Department and finally for a decade at the Police Department at the Berklee School of Music in Boston. Jim was known for dry wit, tremendous skill in hands-on activities, and for his profound selflessness, always putting others before himself. He will be greatly missed.

Jim is survived by his three Children, Lauren Diaz and her husband Ricardo of Andover, Kristen Fletcher and her wife Colleen of Eliot, ME, and his son James Jr. and his wife Julie of Woburn. He also leaves behind the most important people in his life, his six grandchildren Alexander, Lola, Ava, Declan, Quinn & Martyn.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours, Monday, February 9th, at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Mary Church, 155 Washington St., Winchester at 11 a.m. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
