Richard J. Gassett 73, of Framingham formerly of Newton died on Friday Sept. 8th at his home. Born in Newton, Richard was raised in Newton Upper Falls and attended Newton Schools. He lived in Newton most of his life and has spent the last 10 years in Framingham. For over 35 years Richard was the bookkeeper for New England Sand and Gravel until his retirement this year. He was in the National Guard for over 20 years and was active with the Gateway Guardsman. Richard was the brother of Lawson W. Gassett Jr. and his wife Barbara of Newton Highlands. Uncle of Norman Gassett of West Newton, Linda Gassett of West Roxbury , William Gassett of Marlboro and Sharon Rigazio of Newton. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours at the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Monday from 4-7 PM. Funeral Services will be private.
