
Ethel “E.T.” Turner, 89, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, February 2, 2026, at her residence.
Private graveside services will be held.
Ms. Turner was born on August 18, 1936, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Jake and Maude Young Dixon. She was a 1955 graduate of Ocilla High School. Ms. Turner worked as an office clerk for H.R. Kaminsky & Sons, a Bookkeeper for Fitzgerald Federal Savings and Loan Company for over 21 years and a cashier for Harvey’s Supermarket for a number of years. She owned and operated ET’s Cash & Carry for over 20 years. Ms. Turner enjoyed fishing and hunting. Ms. Turner was of the Primitive Baptist faith.
She is survived by her son, Bruce & Linda Eidson of Fitzgerald; step-daughters: Carol & Ralph McMillan, Lynda Smith, Janice Akins and Barbara Cowan; granddaughters, Brittany & Robby Wood and Laura Eidson; three step-grandchildren; a great granddaughter, Ivy Wood; seven step-great-grandchildren; five step-great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Roy Pitts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Turner and a step-granddaughter, Amanda Perry.
