Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth B. Williams. Ken passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on January 31st, 2026 at the age of 72. Ken was born to Theresa and Robert Williams on July 1st, 1953 in Hooksett, NH. Ken was an incredible Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and Friend.

Ken was a lifelong educator and devoted his professional life to the public education system. Ken started his career as a Principal in Belmont, NH before a long tenure as the Principal of Peter Woodbury School in Bedford, NH. He was recognized as New Hampshire Principal of the Year in 2002. He was also a former member of the Board of Trustees for the University System of New Hampshire. After retirement, he became a professor at Southern New Hampshire University and focused on the development of future educators.

Ken graduated from Plymouth State University with a Masters Degree in Education. Plymouth State played a large role in Ken’s life as it was the place that he met his lifelong wife, Cathy Williams. Together, they built a loving family and raised their children in Laconia and Henniker, New Hampshire before moving to Merrimack, NH.

Ken was an incredibly caring father who dedicated his life to ensuring the best for his children. He frequently volunteered to chaperone school dances, coach athletic teams and would always ensure his children were his first priority. A trait that he continued as a dedicated Grandfather and Great Grandfather.

Ken, or Kenny to his friends, was best known for his caring and empathetic nature. He always believed that everyone deserved a chance and was always available for anyone who ever needed him. He believed that how you treated people was what mattered and that it was important that you always show people you care. A trait that he had passed down to anyone who had the benefit of getting to know him. He was also an incredible advice giver. No matter the situation, Ken had an ability to help others see the way forward and would serve as that person's biggest supporter. There are countless numbers of people whose lives are better because of their relationship with Ken.

Ken is survived by his loving wife Cathy Williams, his daughter Meghan Williams and her husband Bob Gerhold, his son Chris Williams and his wife Danielle Williams, his grandchildren Brenden and his wife Mikenna , Gavin and Layla and great grandchildren Georgia and Blayke.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, February 9, 2026 from 3 to 6 pm at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at 10 am in St, Catherine of Siena Church, 207 Hemlock St.

Committal prayers will follow in St. Augustin Cemetery, S. Beech St.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Ken’s memory to the Solinsky Center for Cancer at The Elliot.
