Obituary

BRISTOL --- Randolph Scott Rhude, Sr., known to most as Randy, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at home surrounded by his loved ones.

Randy was born on September 27, 1960, in Franklin, NH, the son of Alice (Burke) and Donald Rhude. A lifelong resident of Alexandria, New Hampshire, Randy built his life—and his legacy—deeply rooted in the community he loved.

Randy was the proud owner and founder of Rhude & Sons Construction, a business he built from the ground up. Through years of hard work, dedication, and craftsmanship, he helped families build their dream homes throughout the Newfound Lake region. His work can be seen not only in the homes he built, but in the trust and respect he earned along the way. Many of his customers became lifelong friends, a testament to the kind of man he was both on and off the job.

Randy was known for his kindness, his sarcasm and quick wit, and his ability to make people laugh without ever trying too hard. He deeply cherished his friendships and valued the bonds he formed over the years. The Lynn Avenue community held a special place in his heart, where neighbors were friends, friends were family, and memories were made through shared stories, laughter, and lifelong connections. He also had a deep love for motorcycles and the freedom of the open road—something that brought him peace, joy, and more than a few good stories. Above all, Randy’s true love and constant companion was his dog, Ozzy, his best friend who was rarely far from his side.

He is survived by his beloved spouse of 32 years, Christine (Raymond) Rhude; his children Jeffrey Rhude (Alyssa), Randy Rhude, Jr., “Bucko” (Kaylee), Kelsey Lyford, and Gerard Rhude; his cherished grandchildren, Tarryn, Caleb, Eva, Carter, Jessa, Selena, Amelia, Kennedy, Carson, Liam, Quinn, Lily, and Sophie; his brother Donald Rhude, Jr., his uncle Louis Burke, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Randy’s legacy lives on through his family, his work, his friendships, and the Lynn Avenue community he held so dear. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

There will be no calling hours.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, from 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., at the Homestead Restaurant, 1567 Summer Street, Bristol, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Randy’s name can be made to the Randy Scott Rhude, Sr., Memorial Scholarship, 20 North Main Street Bristol, NH 03222. This scholarship is to help students continuing their education in the trades business.
