CORDELE — Debra Daniels, age 65, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Crisp Regional Hospital. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 30, 2026, in Sunnyside Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home on the day of the service.
Debra was born in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to Larry Kenneth Barnes and the late Lila Joyce Young Barnes. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Holt, and the father of her children, Johnny Daniels. Debra found great joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially time spent with her beloved granddaughter. She enjoyed working in her yard, tending to her flowers and plants, and took pride in her many collectibles. A devoted animal lover, she had a special place in her heart for both cats and dogs. Debra was also an avid sports fan, cheering faithfully for the Atlanta Falcons and the Atlanta Braves, and she never missed NASCAR, proudly supporting her favorite driver, Kevin Harvick.
She is survived by her children, John Kenneth Daniels of Cordele, Georgia, and Jamie Daniels and his wife, Alissa, of Vienna, Georgia; her father, Larry Barnes of Cordele; her granddaughter, Aliyah Daniels of Vienna; her brother, Randy Clements of Fitzgerald, Georgia,; a sister-in-law, Virginia Holt; several nieces and nephews; and her fur baby, “Baby Girl.”
