Obituary

Paul Proia, age 80, born in Waltham, Massachusetts, and resident of Norton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, surrounded by love.

Paul was the devoted husband of Carolyn M. Proia, with whom he shared 53 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life rooted in love, family, and unwavering support for one another.

He was a loving father to Michael Proia and his wife Jennifer, and to Gina Rindfleisch and her husband Jake. He was also a proud and devoted grandfather to Isabelle Proia (15) and Dylan Proia (13), and to Jacen Rindfleisch (16) and Jaxson Rindfleisch (13). Known affectionately as “Papa,” Paul was the steady presence his family could always rely on—dependable, calm, and always there when he was needed.

Paul was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Josephine (Delfino) Proia, and by his younger brother, Lawrence Proia. He is survived by his siblings, Paula, Karen, and Albert. Paul was a loving uncle to his many nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in his heart.

Paul proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, including honorable active duty during the Vietnam War. His service was a deep source of pride and shaped the values of loyalty, integrity, and quiet strength that guided him throughout his life.

Paul was a kind and genuine man who was loved by all who knew him. He cherished time spent with his family and especially enjoyed playing cards, following sports, working in his garden, and reading science-fiction books, a genre he greatly loved. He found joy in life’s simple moments and shared them generously with those around him. Paul’s warmth, steady presence, and friendly spirit will be deeply missed.
