Obituary

Patricia Ann Baker-Spicer

It is with great sadness that we accept that our wife, mother, and grandmother, Patricia Ann Baker-Spicer, has now transitioned into the ages for all eternity. Patricia, a former resident of Jamaica Plain and Walpole, Massachusetts since 1986, peacefully passed away at home surrounded by her loving family, on January 23, 2026

Pat was born in Jacksonville, Florida on September 21, 1951, and spent her childhood and early adult life in Miami, Florida with her parents, Beatrice and Clarence Baker, Sr., and her four siblings. She graduated from Miami-Carol City High School and attended Miami-Dade Community College - North Campus. Pat graduated in 1973 with a bachelor of science degree in Psychology from Bethune-Cookman University (B-CU) in Daytona Beach, Florida where she was a member of the chorus and known to many as “Dimples”.

While attending B-CU, she met fellow B-Cean Kenneth Spicer. They were married for nearly 54 years and have a son, Kenneth (Whitman), and twin daughters Sherry (Attleborough) and Michelle (Douglas), and four grandchildren Taylor, Nila, Kennedy, and Quincy all of Massachusetts to continue their legacy.

Pat was a social worker for many years with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts where she retired from the Department of Public Health. Pat also served as an administrator and program manager with nonprofit human services organizations assisting disadvantaged families and disabled children in Boston, Miami, and Tallahassee, Florida.

The family offers its deep appreciation to Pat's care team at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women’s Hospital for providing medical care throughout her long and courageous battles. Although she has left us, our Beloved yet lives on in our dreams, prayers, and hopes of being with her again. As long as we live, so shall she.
