Worcester – Shirley (Grandmaison) Fitton, 87, of Worcester, passed away peacefully at the Oakdale Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center with family by her side on Wednesday January 28th, 2026.
Shirley was married to the late Richard Fitton Sr., who passed away in 2000. She is survived by her three children, Richard Fitton Jr. and his wife Sherry of Rochdale, Leo Fitton of Worcester, and Debra Larson and her husband David of Holden, three brothers, Ronald Grandmaison of Conway, John Grandmaison of Worcester, Wayne Grandmaison of Southbridge, and a sister, Karen Grandmaison of Derry, NH, four grandchildren, Thomas and his wife Lisa, Richard, Tara and Joseph and 3 great-grandchildren, Lana, Zachary and Elijah and many nieces and nephews.
Shirley was born in Worcester of the late John and Eva (Lavoie) Grandmaison. She worked for Wright Line in Worcester for many years.
Shirley enjoyed playing bingo and solving word search puzzles, loved a good time at the casino and was always up for some fun. She was at her true happiness, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 7 at 11:30 AM in Hope Cemetery, 119 Webster St, Worcester, where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
Memorial contributions, in memory of Shirley, may be made to the American Cancer Society.
