Elizabeth Ann Gilmore April 5, 1949 – January 30,2026
Elizabeth Ann Gilmore, 76, of South Wellfleet, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Born at Hartford Hospital on April 5, 1949, to Catherine Sullivan-Farrell and Edward Farrell, Elizabeth grew up in Wethersfield, Connecticut, and graduated from Wethersfield High School. She later made her home on Cape Cod, where she found joy and peace in the simple beauty of life by the sea.
Elizabeth, known for her warmth, humor, and gentle spirit, cherished time spent with her family above all else. She loved reading, people-watching, bird-watching, and taking in the natural beauty and community of the Cape. She especially enjoyed her many years working for the Riley family at their gift shop in Wellfleet, Massachusetts, where she formed lasting friendships and took pride in being part of the local community.
She is survived by her loving partner, Al Howard; her devoted daughter, Lisa Gilmore; her beloved grandson, Tyler Clark, and his wife Aubrey-Ana Clark; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Dominic DiFronzo, Mason Clark, and Grace Clark. She is also survived by her sister Barbara Mingo, and Barbara’s children, Brian Mingo, Jim Mingo, and Katie Rago.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Catherine Sullivan-Farrell and Edward Farrell, and her sister Katherine Farrell.
She will be remembered for her kindness, her love of laughter, and the way she made everyone around her feel cared for.
A celebration of Elizabeth’s life will be held privately for family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wellfleet Fire Department (checks made out to WFRA - Wellfleet Fireman's Relief Association) for their generous and professional demeanor they showed while assisting our family.
