Laurie A. Wallace, 71, of Andover MA, passed away on Tuesday January 20th, 2026 from complications from corticobasal syndrome.
Laurie was born in Kenmore NY, the daughter of William Wallace and Ellen Bieler.
Laurie graduated from Plattsburgh State with a degree in Nursing. Laurie was a kind, brilliant and dedicated Registered Nurse for over 40 years.
Laurie married the late Dermot Kelly of Camden NJ on in 1985. Laurie and Dermot traveled the world together enjoying beautiful landscapes, delicious meals, and new adventures.
Laurie worked at Boston Medical Center and later as a school nurse at Doherty Middle School in Andover MA. She was a beloved member of the Andover Public School system. Laurie would dress up as Nurse Rachet every Halloween much to her children’s chagrin. Laurie loved to laugh and joke around, making the School Nurse Office a welcoming place for all children who needed help. She took great care of everyone at Doherty Middle.
Laurie lived a full and loving life as a home cook, piano player, and Jeopardy fan. Her meals were always delicious and she would often say her imaginary best friend was Ina Garten. Food was her life and she took great pride in preparing meals for her family, friends, and coworkers. She would always come home bragging no one went home hungry.
Remaining to cherish Laurie’s memory are her son Devin Kelly, his wife Maura Kelly, and their children Cara and Quinn; her daughter Kathleen Kelly and her husband Panagiotis Fotiadis.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, February 1st, 2026, at 1PM at the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover MA.
