Obituary

Worcester - Joseph Elie Boisvert, 84, passed away peacefully at his home on January 26, 2026.

He leaves behind his partner and best friend of 23 years, Theresa Donnelly and her family; his daughter Kristen Gard and her partner John Arsenault; his cherished grandchildren Michael, Matthew, and Julia Gard, John and Lily Arsenault; his former wife Janice Boisvert, his son Keith Boisvert and his family in Virginia. Joe is predeceased by four brothers; Donald, Leo, Roger and Edward Boisvert and a sister, Pauline Gregoire. He is survived by his brother Armand Boisvert of North Uxbridge, MA and two sisters, Theresa Ogris of Ontario, Canada, and Celine Kallanian of Auburn, MA. He is also lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Joe grew up in L’Avenir, Quebec, one of nine children. At the age of 18, he moved to the United States and made Massachusetts his home for the rest of his life. Shortly after moving to the United States, Joe enlisted in the Army National Guard and served for 6 years from 1963 – 1968. He worked for many years at Reed Rolled Thread and Die in Holden, retiring at the age of 62.

During retirement, Joe and Terry spent many happy winters at their home in Florida. Joe loved traveling, dancing, going to the casino, and working on his antique cars—especially cruising with them on Tuesday nights. He was a long-time member of the Greendale Retirees and treasured the friendships he made there.

Joe was a wonderful father, grandfather, partner and friend. Many knew and loved him as “Happy Joe.” He had a gift for bringing smiles wherever he went and truly left a lasting impression on everyone he met. To know him was to love him.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, February 6 in Notre Dame Mausoleum 162 Webster St. Worcester.
