Obituary

Everett Vital 97 of Ventura California passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 1, 1928, in Fall River, Massachusetts to Francisco Vital and Mary Carvalho Vital
Everett is survived by his devoted wife Dionisia Vital; his daughters Patricia Morgan (Michael), Susan Morrison (Jon) as well as grandchildren Greg St. Pierre, Shannon Davis, Zachary McDonell, Lori Shaklee, Kevin Angelina, several great grandchildren.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, brothers Francisco and Manuel Vital, sister Lorraine Delaney and son Everett Paul Vital.
At just18 years old Everett proudly joined the United States Navy beginning a life marked by service hard work, and curiosity. After returning home, he owned several businesses before relocating to California , where he later worked for the City of Ventura until his retirement in 1993.
In retirement, Everett embraced his creative side taking art classes in painting and sculpture. He enjoyed walking, dancing, and traveling, always staying active and curious about the world around him. A true handyman and jack of all trades, he could tackle any task and often welcomed the challenge.
Everett shared a beautiful life with his wife, Dionisia, and was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He carried a deep love for his late son, Everett, whom he missed dearly and is now reunited with.
Everett’s wisdom, kindness and steady presence will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him. He is now at peace, resting in the loving care of his Heavenly Father.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours to be held on Friday evening February 13, 2026 from 5 to 8pm in the BOYKO & REARDON TELEGRAPH ROAD MORTUARY & CREMATION, 15 Teloma Drive, Ventura, where a Most Holy Rosary will be recited at 7pm. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 Noon on February 14, 2026 at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 10800 Henderson Road, Ventura. Military Honors will follow Mass at Church and reception will then follow at the VFW.
