Jean M. Filamond of Medford died Wednesday in the St. Elizebeth Medical Center Boston. She was 70.The daughter of the late James and the late Myrtle (Davidson) Maher, Jean was born in Somerville. A life-long Medford resident, Jean graduated from Medford High in 1951.
In 1971 she was widowed at the age of 38 when her husband Robert, A Medford firefighter died.Most recently Jean worked in Patient Registration at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Medford.Known for her zest for life, Jean was devoted to family and friends, most especially her grandchildren, with whom she spent a great deal of time.
Among her many interests were traveling and taking cruises. She traveled the Grand Canyon and also belonged to a local bowling league. Jean is also remembered by many for her talent at cake decorating. It was something she loved to share with others.
