Brian J. O’Sullivan, age 84, of Norton, passed away, surrounded by his loving family on Friday, January 23, 2026 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of the late Janet E. (Cox) O’Sullivan, to whom he was wed for fifty years at the time of her death on December 20, 2019.
Born in Norwood, MA on January 10, 1942, he was a loving son of the late James and Julia M. (Conroy) O’Sullivan.
Brian grew up in the town of Norwood and was a graduate of Norwood High School. During the time of the Vietnam War, he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. On January 27, 1964, he was honorably discharged from duty with the rank of Lance Corporal.
Brian was passionate about automobiles and prior to retiring, had worked for over thirty years in the foreign automotive industry. He was a member of the Sportscar Club of America, rode motorcycle with the Patriot Honor Guard, was a member of numerous ski clubs and performed with the Norton Singers.
A dedicated resident of Norton for the past fifty-five years, Brian coached the Tri-Town Saints Youth Hockey and Norton Youth Softball while his children were growing up. He could also be seen marching as a proud supporting veteran in town parades.
Brian will be lovingly remembered for his own technique of storytelling, his quick wit with a joke and being ever-so-proud of his Irish heritage, his family and service to his beloved country.
He is survived by his devoted children, Jeffrey B. O’Sullivan and his wife Melissa of Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Amy J. O’Sullivan and her fiancé Daniel Neveu of Attleboro. He was the cherished grandfather of Morgan and Maggie O’Sullivan. The dear brother of the late Eileen Flood, James O’Sullivan, Maureen McDonough and Denis O’Sullivan, he is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, January 28th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp Street (Off Route 140, Taunton Avenue) Norton.
His funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 29th at 10:00 A.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home. Burial, accompanied by military honors, will follow at 12:45 P.M. at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
Due to the limitation of three floral tributes allowed at the National Cemetery, Brian’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to Norton Veteran Services, care of Estelle Flett, 72 East Main Street, Norton, MA 02766.
