MEREDITH ---- Preston Eames, 79, of Meredith, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, in the town where he resided for nearly his entire life.
Preston was an Eagle Scout and graduated from Berwick Academy in Maine in 1965.
He served in the Army National Guard, attaining the rank of Captain, and later continued his military service in the Army Reserves, from which he retired. He had a lifelong love of soccer and was a soccer goalkeeper coach- a role he was very proud of. He greatly enjoyed teaching the game to anyone who would listen. Preston was a longtime member of the Meredith Lions Club and devoted significant time to fundraising efforts for the Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation.
He was predeceased by his parents, Frances A. Eames and N. Morey Eames.
