Obituary

Norman Kenneth Edwards, 93 of Derry, NH died Monday January 19, 2026 at his home following a period of declining health. Norm was born in Lowell, MA on December 12, 1932 a son of the late Harry and Lillian (Wagner) Edwards. He had resided in Derry for the past five years, formerly living in Ormond Beach FL, Windham NH, and Pelham NH.

Norm grew up in Pelham NH as one of “those Edwards Boys” that everyone knew. He served in the US Army, based in France during the Korean War. After his service years he returned home to work in the family shop, Edwards Fuel Pump and Carburetor for many years, building a home in Windham for his family. He eventually opened his own shop in his garage in Windham, enjoying daily visits from neighbors during his work day and many neighborhood get togethers with the Golden Brook Road Gang. He was active in Boy Scouts of America, enjoyed tying flies and fishing, hiking in the White Mountains, and especially the family’s yearly camping vacations to White Lake State Park and Risser’s Beach Nova Scotia, where he met many relatives and visited often. After retirement, he and Joanne moved to Ormond Beach Florida, enjoying the warm winters and visits from family. He has very much enjoyed the last five years as a resident of Big Island Pond in Derry, with many boat rides on the lake, lobster boils, family gatherings and holidays, and the best fourth of July firework show ever!

He is survived by one daughter, Norma Ryan and her husband Robert of Derry, two grandsons, Christopher Ryan and his wife Laura of Hampstead, NH, and Joseph Ryan and his wife Jessica of Sandown, NH, three great-granddaughters, MacKenzie and Hailey Ryan and Sophia Ryan, one sister, Patricia Lapoint of Beverly Hills, FL, one sister-in-law, Suzanne Depree of Middlebury, VT, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his wife, Joanne (Houle) Edwards in 2021, and by his four brothers, Leonard, Robert, Harry, and Raymond.

There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a celebration of life luncheon will be held on a date soon to be announced. Memorial contributions may be made to: Special Olympics New Hampshire.
