ENNIS, Laurence Raymond (Ray) of Dedham, 95 years old, passed away on January 18, 2026, the son of Laurence S. and Ellen (nee Dalton) Ennis. He was from South Circular Road, Rialto, Dublin, Ireland, where the family butcher shop still stands. Ray was married to and cherished Mary Bridget (nee Sweeney) from Callownamuck, Co. Galway, for 55 years before she passed in 2015. She remained in his heart with love and affection until his death. They met at a dance in Salthill, Galway before coming to Boston and starting a family in Dorchester. Loving father of John and his wife Kathleen. Devoted grandfather of Kevin. He is survived by, and will be sadly missed and remembered by his brother Patrick of Dublin and many nieces and nephews in Boston and Ireland. He is predeceased by his brothers Michael, William, Anthony, Seamus, Phillip all of Ireland and his sister Betty Phillips of the UK. He is also predeceased by his sister and brother in law Dave and Ann (nee Sweeney) Walsh of Dedham, MA. Ray was a 63 year member of IBEW Local 103, he retired from Massport where he was an electrician. Ray and Mary also lived in Rockland, MA and were longtime summer residents of York Beach, Maine. May his soul rest in peace. Visiting hours at the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St., West Roxbury, MA, on Friday, January 30th from 4-7pm. Funeral from the funeral home on Saturday, January 31 at 10am followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Theresa Church, 2078 Centre St. West Roxbury, MA at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
