Lyman- Paul Vincent Wynne, 71, passed away peacefully on January 16th, 2026, at his home
after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Suffern, NY on December 16th, 1954,
to James A Wynne and Consuelo T (Reynolds) Wynne.
In the early 1960s, Paul’s family moved from New Jersey to York, Maine. He was educated in
the York school system. Paul worked in Portsmouth for several years, at Booth Fisheries,
and later at the Postal Service distribution center. His adventurous spirit led him to
Louisiana where for a time, he enjoyed working on a shrimp boat.
From his teens until late in life, Paul loved motorcycling. Over the years he took many long
distance trips, including to Sturgis, SD. As a young adult, Paul enjoyed bike trips to Canada
with his friend Ray. Paul especially enjoyed participating in toy runs. He was able to
combine work with his love of motorcycles for a number of years when he ran his own
Harley shop in Alfred, Maine.
Paul married the love of his life, Debbie, on December 20th, 2008. They enjoyed many years
together at their home in Lyman, Maine. When Debbie experienced major health issues,
Paul was her devoted caregiver, who stayed by her side to care for her with enduring
faithfulness.
Paul enjoyed Tai Chi classes at the senior center, swimming at the Y and the pond, walking
on nature trails, and in general, loved being outdoors. He was especially fond of the
Autumn season; his favorite time of year.
Dogs and cats were a big part of Paul’s life. He was known as something of a dog whisperer
on Lords Lane as he walked the closely-knit neighborhood and greeted his four-footed
friends.
Many long-standing friendships were formed with Paul’s Lords Lane neighbors over the
years. The support that neighbors provided in Paul’s final days was extraordinary.
Late in 2025, Paul made a final ride down his street on his beautiful 84’ Harley; a ride made
possible thanks to the mechanical skills of his stepson Jay. That was a great day for Paul.
In his youth, Paul had formed a tight friendship with his cousin Peter, and very much
enjoyed re-connecting with him in recent months.
During his cancer journey, Paul received wonderful support from his stepson Jay, and from
many caring neighbors and relatives, as well as from Northern Light Hospice.
Paul was pre-deceased by his beloved wife Debbie Mains Wynne, his parents Jim and
Connie, and his brothers Jack Wynne and Richard Wynne.
Paul is survived by his sister Margaret (Margie) Wynne Gray and brother-in-law Skip Gray of
Middleton, MA, niece Molly Gray Gaughf and her husband Jacob Gaughf of New Haven, CT,
stepson Jeffrey (Jay) Mains and his wife Wendy of Kennebunk, ME (children Matt and Emily),
and stepdaughter Jamie Parkhurst of New York (sons Tim Webber and Kobe Parkhurst), and
nephews Asher Wynne and Aaron Wynne. Paul also leaves behind his Lords Lane crew.
A celebration of life is to be planned for a later time. Burial will be held at Goodwins Mills Village Cemetery.
