Bobby Jack Sandiford, 87 of Ocilla, Georgia, and formerly of Worth County, died Sunday, January 18th, 2026, at Irwin County Hospital.

Graveside services and Interment will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday January 21st at New Bethel Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Sylvester, Georgia with Reverend Tim Moorhouse officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:30 PM until the Service Hour at New Bethel Church Cemetery.

Mr. Sandiford was born on December 6,1938 in Irwin County, Georgia to the late Thomas and Gladys Etheridge Sandiford. He was a 1957 graduate of Irwin County High School. After completing High School, Mr. Sandiford served his country honorably in the United States Air Force. He then lived several years in Irwin County while raising his three children and working as a parts salesman for Ben Hill Truck & Tractor Company in Fitzgerald, Georgia.

Later in life, he lived in Worth County with his wife, Lois, and worked as a car salesman for Sunbelt and Griffin Ford. Before he became ill, Mr. Sandiford was an active member of New Bethel Free Will Baptist Church in Sylvester and was known by many for distributing food to several in need families for the Church. Bobby loved the Church, his Lord, and singing hymns. He enjoyed passing out candy to the Churches youth, and to people in the community. Some citizens around Sylvester lovingly called him “The Candyman”. A few of his most wonderful traits were his charisma when meeting people and excelling in talking with anyone.

He is survived by his son, Jeffrey (Debbie) Sandiford of Ocilla, his daughters' Jennifer (David) Cosper of Valdosta and Jeanine S. Burton of Abbeville; step-sons Danny Clark and Don (Amanda) Clark of Sylvester; grandchildren Jessica Sandiford, Alan (Mallory) Sandiford, Tyler Cosper, Alex (Sarah) Cosper, and Margaret Anne Cosper; great grandchildren Jase Hudson and Nash Sandiford; a brother, Stanley (Vivian) Sandiford, a sister, Linda (Tony) Quinney. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Clark Sandiford, and his brother, Waldo Sandiford of Fitzgerald.

The family would like to thank the staff at Palemon Gaskins Nursing Home in Ocilla Ga. for the compassionate care given to Mr. Sandiford. You helped make his difficult time more bearable and made a difference in his quality of life.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to New Bethel Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 101 Oakland Heights Road, Sylvester, Georgia 31791.
