
Peggy Jean Driggers Sorensen Hatley, 80, of Tifton, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2026, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, January 23, 2026, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Joseph L. Crumley officiating. Mrs. Hatley will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive
friends on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Dustin Sanders, James Carr, Michael Woodard, Timmy Woodard, Jimmy Kitchens, Chad Barfield, Skyler Sorensen, and Fernando Ventura will serve as pallbearers.
Born September 27, 1945, in Colquitt County, Mrs. Hatley was the daughter of the late Inez Driggers Braswell. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by one sister, Diane Braswell, one brother, James Braswell; two sisters-in-law, Betty Braswell and Brenda Braswell; and one brother-in-law, Herb Crowley.
Peggy was a loyal Tift County Blue Devil fan and in the 1980s, she was a proud band parent and loved the Tift County Blue Devil Brigade. She retired from the Tift County Board of Education as a School Nutrition Specialist.
Mrs. Hatley is survived by her husband of 41 years, Henry Hatley of Tifton; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Michael A. Sorensen of Sycamore and Fernando and Crystal Ventura of Omega; two daughters and one son-in-law, Micheale and Stan Johnson of West Berrien and Margaret Sorensen of Tifton; two brothers, Ray Braswell and Billy Braswell; one sister-in-law, Linda Braswell; four grandchildren and their spouses, Margaret and Dustin Sanders, Skyler and Halie Sorensen, Heather Sorensen and Miranda Sorensen; and six great-grandchildren, Caitlin Carr, Casie Carr, James Carr, Jordin Sorensen, Isabella Sorensen and Lilyana Sorensen.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorial gifts may be made to a favorite charity.
