Mary A. McDougall, 88, Johnston, died Saturday, January 17, 2026 at home. She was the beloved wife of the late John A. McDougall.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late James and Katherine (Ellery) Moran. A Johnston resident for over 65 years, she loved nothing more than spending time with her family and beloved dog Ally. She enjoyed spending her free time shopping on-line, watching true crime, gardening and playing cards. Mary made friends everywhere she went and will truly be missed by all.
She was the devoted mother of John J. McDougall and his wife, Monica of Cumberland, David M. McDougall and his wife, Robin of Johnston and daughter, Heather McDougall of Johnston, seven grandchildren: Jason McDougall (Stephanie), Peter McDougall (Kristin), Vanessa McDougall, Elise Fuentes (Casey), Sean McDougall (Bec), Joshua McDougall (Stephanie) and Kurstyn McDougall (John), and six great grandchildren: Emma, Ella, Liliana, Landon, Olivia and Lila. As well as her dear baby sister: Shirley Rose Lucia of Johnston.
She was the mother of the late Scott and William McDougall and was the sister of the late Catherine B. Hallberg, Patricia A. Broscious, James F. Moran and William T. Moran.
Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at noon in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial will be in Highland Park, Johnston. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to RISPCA.
