Mary A Martin, 81 of South Boston Massachusetts passed away January 15, 2026, following a courageous battle of COPD and dementia. She was born on October 26, 1944, in Roxbury Massachusetts, a daughter to the predeceased Barbara (Burnham) Martin and Fredrick Martin. She had been a resident of South Boston for 50+ years.
She is survived by her five children; Donna M, John J, Robert P, Tinamarie and Maryann; her adopted grandsons Eric and Jason; her youngest sister Carol Ann, her 21 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and was anticipating becoming a great great grandmother this year.
Mary was predeceased to her siblings Beverly (Martin) Egan, Frederick Jr, Barbara (Martin) Case and Thomas (Max), as well as her grandson Christopher.
She found joy in celebrating holidays while cooking for her family, as well as watching the game show network, Hallmark movies, and General Hospital.
Mary’s final request was for those attending her services to wear colorful outfits to celebrate her life.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours from 5pm-8pm on Wednesday January 21,2026 at Casper Funeral Home 187 Dorchester Street South Boston, MA 02127. Funeral mass will be held on Thursday January 22, 2026, 10:00am at St. Monicas Church 331 Old Colony Ave, South Boston MA 02127.
