Obituary

Kathleen Pare of Brockton, Massachusetts passed away peacefully on Monday, January 12, 2026. She was 88 years old. Born in Galway, Ireland on August 25, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Mary (Carter) Madden.

In 1957, she emigrated to the United States, settling in Boston, Massachusetts, where she was reunited with her sister Mary.

Kathleen made Brockton her home in 1969, where she and her beloved husband Raymond raised their four children and built a life centered on family, love, and generosity.

Kathleen was the devoted wife of Raymond E. Pare, with whom she shared over 62 loving years of marriage. She was a devoted mother to Michelle DeFalco and her husband James of Brockton; Michael Pare of Brockton and his former wife Melissa of Whitman; Raymond E. Pare, Jr. and his late wife Karen of West Bridgewater; and Maryellen Robertson and her former husband Scott of Pembroke.

Nothing brought Kathleen greater joy than spending time with her seven grandchildren and her great-grandchild. She cherished the simple pleasures in life— a cup of tea, her fish tank, caring for her birds and of course, a good manicure. She had a special bond with her cat Tuck. Kathleen had a giving heart and found true happiness in bringing joy to others with thoughtful gifts, oftentimes “just because”.

She was the loving grandmother to Kaila Calling and her husband Austin of Portland, CT; Devyn DeFalco of Bristol, RI; Tyler, Drew, and Brady Pare of Whitman; and Eric and Sean Robertson of Pembroke. She was a cherished great-grandmother to Carter Calling of Portland, CT.

Kathleen is also survived by her brother Michael Madden. She was predeceased by brothers John Madden, James Madden and sister Mary McCarthy. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
