Corinne (Fitzgerald) Ware peacefully passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Lahey Hospital after a brief battle with pneumonia. She was 82 years old.
Corinne was the beloved wife of the late Bob Ware of Tewksbury. They shared 55 years of marriage before Bob’s passing in 2022.
She was the devoted daughter of the late Henry and Dorothy (Rose) Fitzgerald of Revere, Massachusetts. Corinne is survived by her sister, Rita McGurn of Arizona, and was predeceased by her brothers, Dennis Fitzgerald and Kevin Fitzgerald, both of Revere, MA.
Corinne grew up in Revere and graduated from Revere High School in 1961. She attended nursing school at Tewksbury State Hospital and dedicated more than 30 years to a career in healthcare. The final chapter of her nursing career was also her most meaningful, serving as a nurse with the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Department at the Billerica House of Correction. She was deeply appreciative of her colleagues and friends at “The House” and took great pride in helping others.
Corinne and Bob spent more than 20 years enjoying retirement in Barefoot Bay, Florida, where they built lasting friendships and treasured memories together.
She was a loving mother to three children: Kathleen J. O’Donoghue of Billerica, MA; Robert P. Ware and his wife Christine of Littleton, MA; and Shannon M. Whitney of Tewksbury, MA.
Corinne’s greatest joy over the past twenty-plus years was her six grandchildren. Known affectionately as “Nini,” she is lovingly remembered by Alyssa, Jessica, and Erika Ware; Devon and Ty Whitney and Sean O’Donoghue. She adored her grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with them.
Corinne also leaves behind many dear friends, especially her lifelong friend Leslie (Pike) DiPerri, along with Dolly MacDonald and Sally Valdina of Tewksbury.
Calling hours will be held from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Farmer & Dee Funeral Home in Tewksbury, MA. Funeral services will be celebrated privately by her family on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at her place of rest at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Tewksbury, MA.
