BOULDER, Colo. — David P. Soderholm of Boulder, formerly of West Bridgewater, Mass., died Saturday at Balfour Hospice in Louisville, Colo.
He was born in Brockton on Sept. 11, 1947, son of Bruce Soderholm Sr. of Brockton and Marjorie Soderholm of Easton.
He was raised and educated in West Bridgewater. He was a graduate of the University of West Virginia and spent many years in Norwich, Vt., where he raised his four children.
While in Vermont, he taught school and coached many high school sports teams. He spent the last 16 years living in Boulder, Colorado.
Mr. Soderholm was an avid outdoorsman and sportsman competing in marathons throughout the country. He was captain of his West Bridgewater High School basketball team and a star on the cross-country and track teams.
He later played semi-pro basketball in the Cranberry League.
He was known by all for his enthusiasm and optimistic outlook on life and loved spending time with his children and many friends.
He is survived by his parents, and for many years, he was the partner of Candice Gustafson. He also leaves two sisters, Carol Paquette of West Bridgewater and Linda Collier of Wilmington, Del., and his brother, Bruce C. Soderholm Jr. of South Easton, Mass. He is survived by three daughters, Liisa Ioadidou of Athens, Greece, Jessica Cromie of Denver, Colo., and Greeta Soderholm of Morrisville, Vt., a son, Ben Soderholm of San Diego, Calif., and two grandchildren in Greece.
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 9:30 a.m. at the Prophett Funeral Home in Bridgewater. A private graveside service will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery in West Bridgewater.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. at the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St., Bridgewater. A private graveside service will follow at the Pine Hill Cemetery in West Bridgewater. Visiting hours will be Saturday from 2-5 p.m. at the Prophett Funeral Home.
