Tammy Sumner Yeargin, 61, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Bethlehem Baptist Church cemetery, in Ben Hill County, with the Rev. Earl Perry officiating. The family will receive friends from, 6-8 PM, Friday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Ms. Yeargin was born January 19, 1964, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late Ellis Kelly & Carolyn Elizabeth Hitch Sumner. She was a graduate of Wilcox County High School and worked as a secretary for Nationcraft Trailers in Fitzgerald. She loved horses and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Ashley Rimes & Ryan of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Braelynn Rimes, Addisyn Rimes and Branson Rimes all of Fitzgerald; brothers: Ellis Kevin Sumner and Robert Jason Sumner; her beloved German Shepherd, Sarge; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Christopher David Yeargin and a sister, Sandie Sumner Bryant.
