Alice Bredice, Age 65, From Watertown, passed away on December 10th after a brief illness.
Alice was born in Hong Kong, China and moved to London, England as a young girl. She attended the University of York, graduating with a degree in Sociology. During her college years she was also an exchange student at the University of California Santa Cruz, where she met several lifelong friends.
After relocating to the United States in the early 1980s, she moved to the Boston area and also lived in Montpelier, Vermont. She eventually settled in Watertown, which she called home for the last 35 years. Throughout her career Alice worked for Trouvailles, Inc., an antique reproduction custom furniture company as a production buyer. She also held several positions at McLean Hospital, with the most recent being a conference coordinator. During this time, she traveled abroad and throughout the U.S. to visit with friends, colleagues and family. Alice was also involved in the Big Sister program and spent time mentoring young women.
Alice was a voracious reader; often swapping books and discussing her favorites with friends. Cooking was her passion, hosting and attending dinner parties with friends while sharing funny tales about her two pet turtles. Alice was an animal lover and her first dog, Kate, held a special place in her heart. Her dry, quick wit was always present to lighten any social gathering. Alice enjoyed the outdoors and hiking and would walk several miles a day. She participated in the Boston Walk for Hunger several times. She was a wonderful friend and neighbor who helped those around her with daily tasks to make life easier for others.
Alice is survived by, and will be greatly missed, by her closest friends Lisa Richardson and her husband Tom, Lisa Macero-Cedrone and her husband Dan, and Kevin Mulholland and his wife Laura. She is also survived by her two siblings, William Leung of England and Robert Leung of the Czech Republic.
There will be a private celebration of life at a later date.
