Ashley Cargnino, born September 21, 1987, and went to rest on January 10, 2026. She lived 38 unforgettable years entirely rooted in Ventura, California—the only place she ever needed, a place where she could always smell the ocean, and the place that will always carry her imprint.
Ashley is survived by her children, Kylee Cargnino and Jeremiah Cargnino; her parents, Jodie Cargnino-Bustos, Terry Cargnino, and Diane Cargnino; her sister, Marian Ordonez; step-brother Brayden Pettus, and her aunt and uncle, Justine and Roy Gaines. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Noel Bustos.
Ashley was kind in a way that was instinctive, giving without keeping score, and creative in ways that showed up unexpectedly—often involving tools, duct tape, or a sudden “I can fix that” moment. She was handy, resourceful, and proudly quirky. Ashley had a genuine love for bugs and snakes, the kind that made others laugh, cringe, or shake their heads while she admired them like old friends. You’d often find her with her snake Medusa wrapped around her neck. If there was a creature most people avoided, Ashley was probably fascinated by it.
She had a unique way of seeing the world, finding humor, beauty, and curiosity where others might miss it. Her laugh, her odd little interests, and her unmistakable personality made her exactly who she was—unapologetically Ashley.
She leaves behind memories that are funny, tender, hard to believe and impossible to forget, and a presence that will always be felt by those who knew and loved her. Ashley didn’t just pass through life quietly—she made her presence known. She left stories behind, and those stories will be told for years to come.

Family and friends are invited to funeral services to be held on Saturday January 31, 2026 at 11:00am in the BOYKO & REARDON TELEGRAPH ROAD MORTUARY & CREMATION, 15 Teloma Drive, Ventura.
