Obituary

Joshua Wasnewsky, 36, of Milford, Massachusetts passed away after a short illness on January 8, 2026.

Josh graduated from Medway High School in 2007 and moved on to work in the food industry at Medway Country Manor, the 99, and Friendly restaurants in Milford before moving on to Stop and Shop. His most recent employment was as a driver for the food delivery industry.

He enjoyed cooking, baking, finding new restaurants to try, watching & talking about the Boston sports teams, taking walks with his dog, and spending many happy times with his nephew Benny and niece Teagan.

Josh will be remembered as a very kind person and often helped out friends in need. He had a great love for all animals, especially his beloved dog and constant companion Shabba.

Josh is survived by his father and stepmother Walter “Wally” and Ginger Wasnewsky of Medway, his mother, Karen Lyons and her husband Stephan Maywalt of Arizona, his grandmother Helena “Mimi” Wasnewsky of Franklin, his brother Ryan and his wife Kara Wasnewsky of Mendon, sister Jill and her husband Bill Pepin of Bellingham, stepsisters Christine and her husband Ryan Parent of Medway, Elizabeth and her husband Zack Whiting of Attleboro, and Madeleine Verdolino of Medway.

He is also survived by his nephews and nieces Bennett and Teagan Pepin, Joey and Hannah Wasnewsky, Zoey and Mallory Whiting, and Natalie Parent, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Mass on Friday, January 16 at St. Joseph Church, 151 Village Street in Medway at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Medway.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4 – 8 p.m. in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber Street in Medway ginleyfuneralhomes.com .
