Obituary

SALEM - Priscilla (Szalkowski) Lipka, 89, of Salem, wife of the late Stanley K. Lipka, died Wednesday, September 6, 2006 in Salem Hospital following a brief illness.

Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Bronislawa (Szpakowski) Szalkowski.

Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Lipka was employed as an LPN for over 30 years at the Danvers State Hospital. She previously worked for GTE Sylvania.

A lifelong resident of Salem, she was a parishioner of the St. John The Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed knitting for her grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Linda & Raymond Moore of Byfield, two sons & daughters-in-law, Paul & Dorothy Lipka of Ormond Beach, FL, Robert & Frances Lipka of Peabody, 11 grandchildren, Glenn, Gary & Greg Tillson, Sharon Mastrogiacomo, Laurie Beninati, Mark Lipka, Robert, Donald & James Moore, Pamela Rodriguez and Brian Lipka, 16 great grandchildren, two sisters, Jane LaMontagne of Danvers, Stasia Reeves of Patchogue, Long Island, NY, one brother, Thomas Shalkowski of Georgetown. She was predeceased by one daughter, Barbara Stratton and three sisters, Phyllis Boren, Helen Snow, Theresa LeBlanc, and one granddaughter, Karen McLean.

Her funeral service will be held Saturday, September 9, 2006 at 10:45 am from the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, followed by a funeral Mass at 11:45 am at the St. John The Baptist Church, Salem.
