Lorraine (Durand) Taylor, age 98, passed away on January 6th 2026 with loved ones by her side.
Lorraine was born on February 13th, 1927 in Chicopee. She is the daughter of the late Ovila Durand and Edna (Tremble) Riley. Lorraine was a communicant of St. Rose de Lima Parish. She was a hairdresser for many years and later worked in several local stores dedicated to her favorite hobbies: knitting and crocheting. Lorraine enjoyed traveling, playing board games, was an avid reader and lover of animals. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of almost 73 years, Leonard D. Taylor, who passed away in 2019, two sisters, Theresa Menard and Jeanne Dvorchak and one grandchild, Rebecca. She is survived by four sons, Michael Taylor of Chicopee, Daniel Taylor and his wife Susan of Easthampton, Stephen Taylor and his wife Marianne of South Hadley and Brian Taylor and his wife Judy of Chicopee; two daughters, Christine Taylor of Chicopee and Alison Whalen and her husband Stephen of Reading, MA; 10 grandchildren, Audra, Jim, Melissa, Christopher, Amanda, Ryan, Chelsey, Matthew, Sarah and Sarah P and 11 cherished great grandchildren, Brianna, Skyla, Nevaeh, Christopher, Tricia, Arabella, Roman, Erin, Mason, Avara and Owen. A private family service will take place Wednesday January 14th, 2026 at 9AM in the chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Agawam.
