LOWELL—Mary (Coakley) Sullivan, 67 years old, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning, September 4th, at Massachusetts General Hospital, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late G. Douglas Sullivan, who died July 7th of this year.
She was born in Lowell, on December 14, 1934, a daughter of the late Daniel and Mary (Quirk) Coakley, and was a graduate of St. Patrick’s High School.
Surviving her are a daughter and son-in-law: Attorney Patricia Sullivan Talty and her husband Dr. Francis Talty, of Lowell; three sons and two daughters-in-law: G. Douglas Sullivan, III, of Lawrence; former Lowell School Committee Member Sean Sullivan, and his wife Janice, of Tewksbury; Michael Sullivan and his wife Eileen, of Nantucket Island; grandmother of: Shelagh Marie Sullivan and Shannon Leigh Sullivan, of Tewksbury; and Meghan Rose Sullivan, of Nantucket; three cousins: Anne Stewart, Patricia Caron and Marie Sherman, all of Lowell.
She was the mother of the late Daniel Coakley Sullivan, and cousin of the late Raymond Quirk.
Her Funeral Mass to be offered Saturday morning, September 7th, at 11 AM at ST. MARIE’S CHURCH, Lowell, to which relatives and friends are invited. At her request, there will be no calling hours. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Lowell. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the House of Hope; 812 Merrimack Street, Lowell, MA 01854, where her daughter serves as president of the Board.
