Marlene V. (Carriuolo) Rapoza, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 5, 2026 at home at the age of 89. She was the wife of the late Edward A. Rapoza for 67 years. Born in Brockton, she was a daughter of the late John & Minerva (Heath) Carriuolo.
Marlene lived in Brockton all her life until 2006, moving to Matfield Woods in West Bridgewater. She attended Brockton schools, graduated from Brockton High School Class of 1954. After graduating, Marlene worked for the New England Telephone Company before becoming a homemaker. Later in 1983, she went to work as a bookkeeper for her son, Michael, in his business- Rapoza Signs & Lettering, until 2023.
Marlene enjoyed bowling in a Senior League at Westgate Lanes in Brockton, cooking for her family, crossword puzzles, reading novels, and listening to music.
Her son, David, preceded her in death. She leaves a daughter, Denise and her husband, Martin Osborne of FL; sons, Steven of FL, Mike and his wife, Sue of Bridgewater, and Scott of Brockton; brother, John and his wife, Carol of East Bridgewater. She also leaves her grandchildren, Aimee (Donnie) Hill of Taunton, Julie (Cam) Hughes of Easton, Ryan Rapoza of Brockton, and Natalie Rapoza of Bridgewater; great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Kinsley, Margot, Max, and Rory. Marlene is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, January 13th from 4-7pm at the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St (Route 123) Brockton. Her funeral procession will take place on Wednesday, January 14th at 9:30am from the funeral home for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am at St. Ann Church, 103 N Main St, West Bridgewater. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.
