Jean Roland Casseus, born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti on April 6, 1952, to Erima Pompilus and Hubert Casseus. Roland moved from Haiti in 1971 and has been a resident of Boston, MA. Roland peacefully departed this life on December 24, 2025. He will be deeply missed by his beloved sister, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Roland will be remembered as a caring, fierce warrior, a pillar of his family, and a loyal friend. He spent his life enjoying music. He was a singer and drummer with Afro Combo de Boston and Volo Volo de Boston, performing in the Afro-Caribbean Jazz genre. Roland was also a passionate percussionist, and he had a deep love for basketball and football.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respect on Friday January 16, 2026 from 10-12 PM in the Joseph Russo Funeral Home, 814 American Legion Highway, Roslindale, MA. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, 427 Cummins Highway, Roslindale, MA.
