Joseph M. “Moe” Saucier, of Blueberry Lane in Johnston, President and Founder, along with his son, Robert, of Creative Pool Systems of Smithfield and CPS Properties, died Wednesday, September 6, 2006, at his home. He was the husband of Helen J. (Hart) Saucier. Born in West Warwick, a son of the late Joseph and Florence (Turgeon) Saucier, he lived in Johnston for 50 years and had previously lived in Coventry. In the late 60’s, Mr. Saucier worked for Swimquip Corporation and he helped form a group of special pool builders which was named the Master Pools Guild. He helped organize and select membership into the guild. He served as a member of the New England Swimming Pool Association and the Northeast Spa & Pool Association (NESPA). He was the Board of Directors of these associations and held many chairmanships for NESPA. Mr. Saucier was Past President of the Johnston Jaycees, a member of the Johnston Democratic Town Committee and the Johnston Sanitary District. He was a United States Marine Corp. Sergeant and veteran of the Korean War.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his sons, Timothy J. Saucier of Johnston, Jeffrey T. Saucier and his wife, Barbara, Robert J. Saucier and his wife, Jeannie all of North Scituate and six grandchildren; Cheryl, Jennifer, Tara, Joseph, Justin and Adam. He was the brother of the late Robert G. Saucier. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10:30am in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Burial with military honors will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Visitation Friday 4-8pm in the *ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 169 George Street, Pawtucket, RI 02860 or the Food Pantry at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 Atwood Avenue, Johnston, RI 01919.
