Obituary

Maryjane Mazzarella “MJ”, age 82, of Stoneham and formerly of Winchester, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted daughter of the late Alphonse Lambiase & Elizabeth Sundina (Gigliotti) Lambiase. MJ was raised in Winchester and graduated from Winchester High School in 1961. She was part of the Girls Glee Club and Aberjona Bowling Club.

MJ was the beloved wife of the late Robert “Bob” Mazzarella with whom she shared 55 years of marriage. She was the loving mother of Anita Mazzarella of Stoneham and Richard Mazzarella of North Reading and proud “Gram” of Lauren Elisabeth Mazzarella.

She had a creative spirit and loved spending time on her hobbies, including knitting, crocheting, and jewelry making. MJ was known for knitting blankets with care for her family and friends and for creating festive seasonal décor throughout the year. She shared many adventures throughout her life. Most notably, a memorable Bermuda cruise and a trip to Las Vegas with Bob, weekends away in North Conway NH and countless other fun and joyful excursions.

She cherished time with family and friends, always enjoying a chance to catch up and reminisce about the old days. She often spent time with Bob at Horn Pond, people-watching and taking in the scenery or relaxing at home watching episodes of Gold Rush and American Pickers. MJ had a talent for research and enjoyed building family ancestry trees for both the Lambiase and Mazzarella families, connecting past and present through her dedication.

MJ will be remembered as a thoughtful, caring, and wonderful woman. She was also known for her strength, steadfastness, and warm sense of humor, often shared through her many stories. She was always willing to listen and offer her perspective to help others. She cared deeply for her family and kept their pictures close by as well as held a special place in her heart for her beloved furry companions over the years—especially her newest kitty, “Maggie”. MJ will be fondly remembered and forever missed.
