Settimio “Sam” Pasquariello, age 80, a longtime resident of Tewksbury, formerly of Chelsea and Everett, passed away at Lowell General Hospital on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.
He was the beloved husband of 44 years to Caryn D. (Creamer) Pasquariello, who passed away on November 3, 2025.
Born in Gesualdo, Italy on August 1, 1945, he was the son of the late Giovanni Pasquariello and the late Marianna (Forgione) Pasquariello.
Sam and his family came to the United States in 1958 and settled in Chelsea, MA. He attended Chelsea schools and graduated from Chelsea High School in 1965. Sam received his bachelor’s degree from Lowell Tech (U. Mass-Lowell) and his master’s degree from Northeastern University.
In 1969, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served with the 3246 Test Wing until his honorable discharge from active duty in 1973. After several years in the Air Force Reserves, he was recalled to active duty during Operation Desert Storm as an Intelligence Applications Officer and was honorably discharged from his second tour of duty on April 11, 1991. He was awarded several decorations for his military service including the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, the Air Force Organizational Excellence Award with three devices, the National Defense Service Medal with one device and the Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon with four devices.
Prior to his retirement in 2005, Sam was employed by the Department of Defense as an electrical engineer with the Raytheon Corporation.
In his spare time Sam spent a lot of time enjoying tinkering with computers in his infamous and incredibly unorganized computer room. While his family often wasn’t quite sure what he was working on, it was something he truly loved. During the warmer months, Sam could be found tending to his garden, where he grew a variety of fruits and vegetables. He was especially proud of his fig tree, which his father brought over from Italy in the 1950s. Sam was a devoted family man who loved catching up with his brothers and sisters on the phone. He always looked forward to the Pasquariello Family Christmas Party, where he was typically tasked—much to his dismay—with organizing the group photo. In his later years, Sam took great joy in attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, cheer competitions, and school activities, and simply spending time with them as he watched them grow. He was immensely proud of each of them. Above all, Sam cherished the time he spent with his wife, Caryn—it was rare to see one without the other.
He is survived by two sons, John B. Pasquariello and his wife Kelly and Jason R. Pasquariello and his wife Courtney, all of Tewksbury: six grandchildren, Johnny, Emily, Ryan, Ben, Hunter and Cora. Sam was the brother of Anthony Pasquariello, Elisa Grande, Carmella Iannuzzi and the late Maria Lombardi, Francesco Pasquariello, and Cesira Martone. He leaves many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Calling hours are Wednesday, January 7, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. His funeral procession will begin on Thursday, January 8, at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main Street, Route 38, Tewksbury. Services will conclude with interment at Tewksbury Cemetery.
