Susan H. DiMarzio, 79, of Londonderry, NH, passed away Thursday January 1, 2026 with her loving family by her side. She was born on March 13, 1946 in Salem, MA, the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Lubas) Maurais.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Wayne DiMarzio, her son, Mark DiMarzio and his wife Kerry Donovan of Merrimack; her daughter, Stephanie DiMarzio of Londonderry; and her grandchildren, Jessica DiMarzio and Nicholas DiMarzio.
Susan grew up in Salem, MA. She attended Perry Normal College where she received her teaching certificate, then attended Fitchburg State College, receiving her teaching degree and later attended Notre Dame in Manchester, NH where she earned her Master’s degree. Susan was a teacher in the Derry School District for over 40 years, eventually retiring in 2008, after being awarded Teacher of the Year.
Susan met her husband Wayne in Derry, NH. They married in 1969 and lived in Vermont where they had their son Mark. They later moved to Londonderry, NH where their daughter Stephanie was born, and raised their family.
Susan loved overnight trips around New England, ocean boating with her husband in Maine, or just a car ride together looking for “hole in the wall” breakfast places. She also enjoyed coffee and lunch dates with her friends and walks on the rail trail with her daughter and granddog.
She was a fan of old tv shows. She could watch Murder She Wrote or Perry Mason on repeat. Her favorite guilty pleasure was her daily dose of General Hospital.
Susan was a huge Boston sports enthusiast, especially the Red Sox and Bruins.
When her grandchildren were born, she decided she and Wayne should give up their ocean boating days in Maine in exchange for a summer home on Lake Winnesquam. She loved socializing with the neighbors in Mallard Landing and enjoyed boat rides with her family, especially to the loon sanctuary.
Of all the things she enjoyed, Susan’s favorite past time was watching her own family play sports. She never missed the opportunity to attend her son’s football and baseball games. Later, it was her granddaughter’s gymnastics meets and field hockey games. Most recently, she was a diehard hockey fan of any team for which her grandson was playing.
She was greatly loved and will be terribly missed.
