SPRINGFIELD – Christine Ann (Diaz) Higgins, 65, of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on New Year's Day, Thursday, January 1, 2026. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Springfield on October 4, 1960, a beloved daughter of the late Ronald G. and Joan A. (McCarthy) Diaz. She was raised in Springfield, graduated in 1978 from Classical High School, and received an Associate's Degree from Springfield Technical Community College. Christine lived in the Berkshires for several years before returning to Springfield in 2015 where she lived the remainder of her life. Christine enjoyed crafting but most of all, spending time with her loving family. She leaves her loving and devoted brother, Ronald G. McCarthy and his wife, Jeanne, of East Longmeadow; her dear aunt, Gail Morini and her husband, Jack, of Springfield; her cherished nephew, Dennis J. Roche and his wife, Tara; her two cherished nieces, Nykole Roche and her husband, Adam Corriveau, and Ashley McCarthy; numerous grandnephews and grandnieces, cousins, extended family members, and friends. She was predeceased by her loving cousin, Diane Letendre who was Called Home on December 27, 1993. Her burial will be private at the convenience of the family at Hillcrest Park Cemetery in Springfield.
