Edward G. Peixe, 82, of Westport, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026 at St. Anne's Hospital. He was the husband of Brenda L. (Kent) Peixe, they shared 53 years of marriage.
Mr. Peixe was born in Fall River, son of the late August and Evelyn (Costa) Peixe and had been a lifelong resident of Westport. In his earlier years, he worked as a lobsterman and scalloper out of Westport, New Bedford and Anchorage, AK. He went on to establish E.J. Peixe Trucking and ran it for many years traveling to Texas, Louisiana, and Florida. Following this, he worked for KR Rezendes, Inc. until retirement.
Mr. Peixe loved classic cars, attending car shows and was a member of the Downshifters Car Club. He also enjoyed John Deere tractors and was a member of NEATTA and the Washington County Tractor Pullers.
Survivors along with his wife include his daughter: Karen Niss of Hopkinton, MA; his 3 grandchildren: Mathias Niss, Klara Niss and Kristof Niss; along with nieces; a nephew; and many cousins.
He was the brother of the late Manuel Peixe.
