Obituary

Worcester – Gloria G. Riel, 82, of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 in the Hermitage Healthcare after an extended illness.

Gloria was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Robert and Lorraine (Poirier) Riel and is also predeceased by a brother, Ronald R. Riel.

She is survived by her three siblings, Susan E. Golino of Erie, PA, Patricia A. Bielik of Dudley, MA and Robert F. “Skip” Riel Jr. of Mendon, MA. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gloria spent the majority of her work career in the banking industry working at TD Bank and previously TD Banknorth and First Massachusetts Bank. She enjoyed being in her home and would often be found reading a book or listening to music, especially classical music, showtunes and musicals.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, January 5, 2026 in the Dirsa-Morin Memorial Chapel 298 Grafton St. Worcester. Private burial alongside her parents will take place in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Family and friends are invited to gather in the Dirsa-Morin Memorial Chapel from 10:30 to 11 AM prior to the start of her funeral service.
