Obituary

SACO- Ellsworth - Dianna Lyn Townsend, 58, passed away on December 31, 2025, in Saco, Maine. Dianna was born in Portland, Maine on November 14, 1967, to John (Jack) George Reardon and JoAnn Reardon (Sanborn). Dianna grew up on Sebego Lake in Standish, Maine. She attended and graduated from Bonny Eagle High School. After meeting and marrying Scott, the two of them raised their three kids in Limington. Dianna enjoyed cooking, and loved to surprise her young family with "Dianna supreme surprises" which generally consisted of all the leftovers combined into some concoction. As her family got older Dianna found enjoyment in quietly tending her flourishing wildflower and vegetable gardens. She later became a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked at Brentwood nursing home where her favorite title was activities director. Dianna adored the elderly population and it showed in her work. Her next profession and love was photography. Dianna had an eye for capturing nature's beauty and loved to enter (and win) her photos at local fairs. She and one of her photos was published in the book Maine 24/7 & was features on news center Maine 207 show. Dianna briefly worked as a reporter for a few local newspapers where her love of photography shined. Life changes brought her to Ellsworth where she enjoyed the ocean and found and met so many new friends.

Diannas proudest accomplishment, aside from her children, was her sobriety. It was the hardest & bravest thing she fought for, and won. In her last few months of life she was happy, goal driven, and was cherishing getting to know her grandchildren better whom she was easily winning over with candy and her sense of humor. However short we are so proud of and thankful for that time we had with her new sober self.

She is predeceased by her parents Jack and JoAnn Readon & her beloved dog Dreyfus. Dianna is survived by her sister Cynthia Reardon & husband Jon Felty of Limington, friend and former spouse Scott Townsend of Limington, Daughter Kaylee Townsend, daughter Jesika Leary & husband Kevin with their four children Ethan, Katelyn, Elliott, and Delia of Saco, and son Jacob Townsend and wife Kerry Townsend with their two children Natalie, and Colson of Limington.
